All ohmfriends know that cats are an important aspect of most Ohmforciens. Beside Plum force – who hates them with all his strength – everybody here have some sympathy for these mysterious animals. But it’s Mauve Force indeed our biggest cat fan, and he’s just got a third one. Her name is Dúlin, wich means “Nightingale” in Sindarin. First two ones are called Ancale and Aiwe – Mauve says it means “Sun” and “Little Bird” in Quenya. He just told me he and his wife are actually already planning to pick a forth one, but they haven’t done it yet because it’s being hard to figure out a second Elf name beginning with “D”. Any suggestions?

Only three? We got seven indoor cats in an apartment. All strays and all perfectly content.
Your naughty tortie looks a little young to be away from its mum (2 weeks??). Is one of the other two the mother? We had to spoon feed an abandoned kitty every two hours – 24 hours a day. However, she’s worth it.
As for a name – what about Dopey – oh wait, that was a dwarf…
she’s too young you’re quite right. That’s why she is still with her mom and that we are longing for the end of July…. ;P
Would you have advices for the first encounter with my 2 female cats? How do I manage not to have them destoying each other?
We had similar concerns. For the older cats (around 1 yr) we locked them up in a room for a few days, to let all the cats get to know each other’s smell. We then let out the new one to explore the flat for an hour or two, whilst keeping the others locked up. When the finally met, there was lots of sniffing, but it was pretty calm, tho the new kitty(s) hid for a while until they felt confident.
For our baby cat, we kept her in a cage until she was about 4 weeks old. By the time she graduated all the other cats were already used to her, so it was a pretty easy transistion.
Can’t say whether we did the right thing or not, but it seeme to work.
Note that your female cats should take to the new one quite quickly and will probably be washing the baby in no time.
Good luck and have fun!
Thanks for your advice mate!
We have decided to go for the second one! It will be a male: Dinen (means “silent, quiet”)!!
I feel both incongruous and blissfully happy!
