- Listen to Derek Howell’s Stride how many times you want to get inspired, download and install the Frohmage filter and/or the Symptohm:Melohman Performer Edition synth if you don’t have them yet and use one or both when producing your remix (you can also use the demo version of any other Ohm Force plug-in if you want). In addition of these 2 suggested plug-ins you can also you any other plug-in or musical instrument you want.
- Your remix must have more than 1 minute and less than 10 minutes.
- You don’t necessarily need to follow the progressive house path, feel free to choose any style or to propose a new one. But keep in mind that the track must be recognizable. Extremely minimal or glitchy ‘remixes’ where the sample pack has been merely used to provide some waveforms excerpts are not exactly the goal of this cohmpetition. At the same time, you’re not obliged to use the sample pack: if you or your band want to replay the parts (or some of) with other instruments/sounds, no problem at all.
- When the track is done, create a free account at Soundcloud, upload it there and send us the link for it. You should send the link to cohmpetition@ohmforce.com (don’t send attached Mp3 files!). We’ll receive your link, listen to your track to check if it fits the above mentioned requirements and then will add the Soundcloud’s embedded player for it at the Cohmpetition’s main page. When the embedded player for your track will have been posted it will mean that you’re officially participating in the cohmpetition. We’ll also post the embedded player for your remix in an individual blog post at our blog’s frontpage.
- In your mail, in addition of the link to your remix at SoundCloud, don’t forget to mention your name (or artist name) and which country you’re from (or where you live now). If you also send us a picture from you (or your artist logo/album art/etc) it will show that you’re a cool guy.
- All submissions (links) should be sent to us until Sunday February 28th 2010.
- Each person/band can submit only one track. When participating as a duo/trio/band, one member will have to be chosen to represent the band concerning the prizes distribution (prizes will be given/licensed in the name of only one member/person).
- The subjective aspects that will be considered when judging the tracks: the overall quality of the arrangement/remix, the overall quality of the production, creativity, the use of the two suggested Ohm Force free plug-ins. The music style will not be judged: a Viking Metal version will compete equally with a Miami Bass one. The amount of comments that each track will have won’t be judged.
