Second french submission at the cohmpetition! Madlab aka Penguins On Fire comes with a soundtrack called “cOhm to us”, wich is, by their own words, “the definitive solution to all the crap going on around the world !”. Intro is digital, its IDM and it’s dry and cold, as if Ellen Allien had woke up a little bit sad on a rainy wednesday. Then there are some cool cynical dialog excerpts (french just love that!) talking about the fail of the peace conference (we won’t translate everything, it will be a good opportunity for you to practice your french skills). The psychedelic delay effect on the voice…. it smells like OhmBoyz, don’t it? Melodies from the middle to end are also nice, you’d better click here to listen…

Miro from Slovenia brings us a jazzy soundtrack for Minimonsta’s world salvation, called “Gray GForce”, with a slap bass that immediately made us think on some 80′s movie soundtrack (or even the Seinfield theme), and with organic sounds such as a the drumkit and the brass-like sound that quickly takes the song in a freestyle psychedelic jazz solo, click here to listen and then checkout his MySpace profile…

A third swiss submission: Alexandre Borcic aka Krakatau made a tune called “World Music” as the soundtrack for the illustrated novel. Expect a little of everything: it starts with a cold and windy ambiance, then we have some 80′s synths, as other different instruments show off, each one making its ‘solo’ moment. At the second half of the track we’ve some 70′s synths, so we’re not only talking about ‘world music’, but also about some kind of ‘trough the decades’ music..  At the end we feel as if we are in a sunny spring garden, close your eyes and you’ll see it… Click here to listen..

Harrison’s track begins with a terrific dark industrial ambiance, that made us think on Matrix’s dominated-by-machines world, when the creepy robots fly surveilling humans-being-use as energy production cells. Then it cuts to a groovy breakbeat with gritty distorted melodies: “Via a series of your machines i have made a little ditty to accompany your story of the world today. I’ve broken it down into “early dark days”, “attacking monsta times” finished with “happy dance moments” – clearly the way out of global crisis.”, explains Robin with his own words.Click here to listen…

“I wanted the track to follow along with the structure of the novel’s narrative if it is read at a fluently paced standard and also complement the image aspects in great detail.  I wanted to take you on a sound-walk through the images starting in a state of robotic mind control where we are then imprisoned in a so called “credit crunch”  caused by human greed; debt entrapment and inexplicable governing techniques resulting from corruption and back-seat puppet masters whispering in the background; while their puppet people stand around being photographed and making a mockery of the world. The track starts to gradually build into a great big explosion of deep minimonsta:melohman bass (probably from a top secret beer friendly location) and the rehabilitation of all greed struck peoples of the world who are everted by the ultra low frequencies of the globally resonating minimonsta:melohman waves. Eventually they start to be free and play there own sounds and the world is amass with minimonsta:melohman frequencies circulating through the airwaves and renewing humankind’s creative and innovative characters. The people of the rejuvenated world dance and cheer and minimonsta:melohman frequencies ring until the end of time.”

Kylo Alexander from UK started his career with the right foot, as he told us that it’s the first time he shows his music to a public audience. Well Kylo…. I’m afraid our blog is not exactly what we could call “massive audience site”, but if a half dozen guys come to know your work, it’s already a “debut”, isn’t it ?
