Try winning an ALL-ALL Bundle at the Summer Electronic Music Games

sectionz

What will be a great thing to do during this summer? Making music, of course! What about participating at this year’s edition of the Summer Electronic Music Games, the yearly contest organised by SectionZ? SEMG’s first edition happened during the summer of 2004 and experimented a wide success, with up to 11 different events, more than 200 entries and live web broadcast shows for the results announcements and playback. Since then it became a tradition, getting bigger year after year, specially the prize vault: for 2009′s edition more than U$ 60,000 in pro-audio related goodies have been donated by top industry names, and of course you’ll read the Ohm Force name on that list. Second and third places of each event will put their hands in a OhmBoyz delay and the “4 on 4 relay fresstyle” (a ‘four style in a row’ competition ) big winner will get nothing less than an ALL-ALL Bundle with all our plug-ins. If you enjoy musical challenges you should participate in the contests, listen, review submitted tracks and promote your own within and beyond the SectionZ community. Non members can freely download or stream music just as easily as members.

Maurice Jarre’s music will remain

France – and the music world – lost this morning one of the greatest composers of our recent time: Maurice Jarre – father of the synth prodigy Jean-Michel  - has made plenty of legend movies soundtracks, such as Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago; and more recently Ghost, Dead Poets Society, besides many others. The guy was huge.

Analog To Digial Music Expo, in UK’s South West

Analog to Digital Music Expo, UK

Last weekend UK’s South West have seen its first music expo – Analog To Digital Music Expo, that’s the name of this pioneering event – and Ohm Force was present, with Jef Stone, the expo organiser himself, demoing our plug-ins during his production workshop. Jef told us that the attendence was much bigger than what they could expect, what shows that there’s a lot of production potential in the region. At the end one lucky guy has won an ALL-ALL Bundle and is now able to practice at home the tricks learnt during the workshop – and Ohm Force was not alone supporting the british South West’s production scene: big names like Korg, Yamaha, Fender and Focusrite were there, but also cool web based companies such as Voxengo and Camel Audio, among others..

Planet Pootwaddle internet radio show

Sometimes is hard to find nice internet radio shows in internet’s ocean of options, specially when all we want is to listen to some good music and, why not, laugh a little in order to forget all this world bitterness. That’s why you must check out “Planet Pootwaddle”, a music/humour broadcast made by our ohmfriend Michael Sheehy, with the help of a kind of crazy crew. In their own words, the show is “an oasis of ear candy, where we celebrate music simply for the love of music … Without commercials or other cheesy distractions. We provide our own cheesy distractions thank you! If it ain’t fun, what’s the point? Planet Pootwaddle is an extensive collection of both familiar and eclectic music coupled with a healthy dose of  12 year old boy humor and all seamlessly bound together with our unique blend of production, or as we like to call it jingle magic“…

Tribute to Mister Wright

The hearts of all the Pink Floyd fans have been shot by a bullet. Yesterday Rick Wright has gone, after a big fight against cancer. Rick was not only great at the piano or synths: he was also great composer. “Shine On Your Crazy Diamonds” was his. Also “Summer 68″, one of Red Force’s favorite songs.

You sung “The time has gone, the song is over, thought I’d something more to say”. You have said more than most, Rick. Thank you for everything.

The Oddity synth from an Akustikk point of view

Our ohmfriend Dennis Jr. from norvegian electronic music label Akustikk Records has made a whole track just with G-Force synth Oddity. It’s nice to listen to the Oddity doing both warm fat sounds and subtle electronic spices, as you’ll be able to listen/download here
