Threatening gothic distorted vocals powered by Ohmicide:Melohman

Loads of distortion on vocals? Colombian gothic artist Elamorte explains how he uses the Ohmicide:Melohman distortion plug-in from Ohm Force to process his vocal tracks. He could have made this tutorial without showing his face, but it wouldn’t be scary enough. His track is called “Suicide” and you shouldn’t listen to it alone at home…

“How i use my OHM-stuff” by Colin Stark

This time our german ohmfriend Colin Stark (you’ll probably remember him from our first video cohmpetition, one year ago) waited almost until the last minute to send us his most recent production. Now he shows how he personally uses his OhmBoyz, Ohmicide:Melohman and OhMyGod!. (Colin, you have indeed experienced some technical problem when rendering your video, as video speed is weird and there’s no sound at all. The HD version is not working neither. Please render/upload again and send us a new link as soon as possible!!!)

Third cohmpetition submission shows “Ohmicide dynamics processing/destruction”

Third submission by Michael Hetrick is once again about our distortion beast Ohmicide:Melohman, this time showing a creative way to use the plug-in: using each band’s noise gate parameters to apply different kinds of distortion to each portion of the frequency spectrum, what gives – in Michael’s studio an acoustic drum loop – new personalities to the audio and spicy rhythmic enhancements to what used to be a ‘not that uncommon loop’. In addition he plugs in an OhmBoyz delay and – wow – we could make an entire track only playing along with parameters and cleverly exploring the variations of this delayed-gated-distortion setup.

“Shellys and Ohm Force – Murderous Sounds” is the 2nd cohmpetition submission

Second submission comes from Melbourne, Australia: Nicholas Levey shows how he uses both Ohmicide:Melohman and Predatohm distortion units – with some additional spices provided by OhMyGod! – to create “violently distorted textures suitable for ambient music and soundscapes”. Watch the video then pay a visit to his myspace profile.

Cohmpetition’s first submission by Matt Walker (Smashing Pumpkins/Morrissey)

Cohmpetition’s first submission kicks some ass: former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Matt Walker  shows how he uses the Ohmicide:Melohman at home and during his drum sessions. Matt is currently on tour with Morrissey, and if you still don’t know what Matt we’re talking about, he was the guy on the drums from 96  ’til the end of the band…

Ohmicide and Symptohm reviewed by Sound On Sound magazine

SoundOnSound magazine March 2009

What a good surprise when opening this morning the March edition of UK’s mag Sound On Sound ! Both Ohmicide:Melohman and Symptohm:Melohman have been reviewed in a in-depth 3 page article that describes – and judges – most of these two plugin’s features. So we’re glad to see that our two newest plugins have been approved by one of the most important – and exigent – music productions mags of the world. You’ll be able to register yourself to read for free the whole review, or why not going to your newspaper agent and taking home this nice edition that also talks about Cubase 5, the cheap-and-cool Behringer audio-interface-and-keyboard-controller, and much more…

Jack McOck strikes again

Jack McOck aka Dominic Réamonn (Geneva, Switzerland) strikes again. After making one of the funniest video tutorials ever, now the guy gets back to his original talents: music composing and production. His track “I 8 Your Chips” is really nice and would have been the perfect soundtrack to the end of Spielberg’s “Artificial Intelligence”, when hundreds years later the android-boy is rescued from the ocean by the machines who now rule the planet, what we realize as they take the transparent cubic elevator to take him  to the examination room…

With a bit of an Autechre influence, McOck has abused of FIVE instances of Ohmicide:Melohman to achieve these sounds. As sources, Logic’s Ultrabeat and Rob Papen’s Predator were all he’s used. If you’ve enjoyed it, pay a visit to his site and leave him a comment! Have you also made a nice track using Ohm Force plug-ins and want to show it to the ohmworld? Drop us a mail!
